Binsar Mahadev temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built in the 10th century. The beautiful temple is situated at an altitude of about 2500 meters above sea level and is surrounded by lush green Deodar and pine trees. Apart from its beauty, this temple is also considered for its master art. 

It is believed that Raja Pithu built this temple in memory of his father, Bindu, which is why this temple is also known as the Bindeshwar temple. And it is believed that this temple was built in just one day.  

Mankameshwar Temple

This temple is situated at a distance of 1 kilometre from Ranikhet. The Kumaon Regiment built this temple in 1978. Mankameshwar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Mother Kali, and Radha Krishna. 

Deodar and pine trees also surround it. For this reason, the beauty here attracts every single tourist. According to the legend, it is believed that if any devotee truly wishes in this temple, his wish is fulfilled quickly.

Golf Course

It is located about 5 kilometres from Ranikhet. This golf course was built by the British. This place attracts many people because this ground situated at such a heightis quite beautiful. Pine trees surround this beautiful golf ground. 

This golf course is considered the second-largest golf ground in Asia after Gulmarg. Beautiful, green, and covered with velvet grass, this golf ground attracts domestic tourists and foreign tourists. 

Kumaon Regimental Center

It is a museum run by the Kumaon and Naga Regiment. Here, the weapons and flags caught in different wars are kept for display. This museum was built in the 1970s to showcase the heritage of the Kumaon region.

Chaubatia Garden

Rani Jheel

This lake is located about 2.5 kilometres from Ranikhet. Rani Jheel is situated at an altitude of 7500 feet above sea level. You can also enjoy boating here. Rani Jheel is a vast lake that was developed by the cantonment board for rainwater harvesting.

Ashiyana Park

Jhula Devi Temple

Jhula Devi temple is an ancient temple situated near Chaubatia and is about 7 kilometres from Ranikhet.

By Air: The nearest airport of Ranikhet is in Pantnagar. The distance to Ranikhet is 110 kilometres from here. From the airport, you can reach Ranikhet with a private taxi or shared taxi or bus. 

By train: Ranikhet’s Nearest Railway Station is Kathgodam. The distance from Kathgodam to Ranikhet is 75 km. From here you can reach Ranikhet by bus or taxi.

Apart from this, you can come to Ranikhet in your car, bike or rental taxi. If you want to come to Ranikhet with your car, bike, or rental taxi from Delhi, your distance will not be much. The distance from Delhi to Ranikhet is about 340 kilometres. 

Where to stay in Ranikhet

If you want you can take a room near the bus stand of Ranikhet because from here you will be able to cover the local tourist places of Ranikhet on foot. The cost of the room here ranges from 600 to 2500. If you want, you can also stay at the camp. The cost of the camp is around ₹ 800. According to my, taking a hotel in Ranikhet is more convenient and the best option. 

Best time to visit Ranikhet

Ranikhet, you can come anytime from March to July, apart from this you can come anytime in September, October and November months. The weather remains cold throughout the year. If you come here in these months, you will get to see the pleasant weather.
