Lohagarh Fort

Located at an elevation of about 3389 feet above sea level. This fort is one of the ancient Forts of Maharashtra, which is 15 kilometers from Lonavala. Lohagarh fort is also known as “Iron Fort.”

In 1648, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj acquired this fort. But in 1665, he had to give this fort to the Mughals. But later, he again received this fort in 1670, and he used this fort to keep the treasure.

There are a total of four doors of this fort. Whose names are Ganesh Darwaza, Hanuman Darwaja, Narayan Darwaza and Maha Darwaza. Presently this fort is protected by the Government of India.

Karla Caves

Karla Caves is one of India’s oldest Buddhist caves, which falls in Kurli village on the Mumbai-Pune highway. Here, one can see the mirrored beautiful hall and the beautiful sculptures’ workmanship, which narrate the beautiful stories. Cave number eight, which is known as Chaityagriha, is the most popular Cave here. It is currently protected by the Caves Archeological survey of India.

Lion’s Point

Located 12 kilometers from Lonavala station, this place is situated between Bhushi Dam and Aamby Valley. It is also known as Tiger Point and Sunset Point. Lion’s Point is the most beautiful place in the whole of Lonavala, from where you get a great view of the mountain range. You can also see small and big waterfalls here at the time of Monsoon.

This place is also known to visit the Sunset. Lion’s Point is considered to be an ideal place for photography. Here you can also enjoy activities like horse riding, camel riding, and dirt bike ride. Lonavala Lake

Kune Falls

Ekvira temple is dedicated to Goddess Ekvira, who is considered to be an incarnation of Hindu Goddess Renuka. At the same time, Goddess Ekvira is also known as the mother of Parashurama. Goddess Ekvira is the Kuldevi of fishermen. Traditional dance and music are celebrated here with great pomp every year in Navratri and Chaitra.

Rajmachi Fort

This fort is one of the most popular Forts in the Lonavala region. Situated at an altitude of about 2700 feet above sea level in Rajmachi village. Rajmachi fort offers a splendid landscape of the Sahyadri mountain range. Satvahan Rajvansh built this fort as security. This place is quite famous for trekking and its picnic spot. 

Kamshet Paragliding

Pawna lake

Bhaja Buddhist Caves

Bhaja Caves is a group of 22 Buddhist caves made up of mountains. Situated at an altitude of about 450 feet above the surface of the village. Tourists can see many Buddhist caves here, but the main attraction is the beautiful Chaitya which displays the wooden artifacts of that time. Chaitya means such a place where prayer is done; it is also called Chaitya Hall. It is currently protected by the Caves Archeological survey of India.

Bhushi Dam

Karnala Bird Sanctuary
